2020 Voices of the (603): A cappella Festival
Dear Chorus Teacher Colleagues,
We are excited to host the tenth annual a cappella festival on March 13, 2020 and we would like to invite your a cappella ensemble at school to participate for FREE!!! You spoke and we listened and moved the festival to Music in Our Schools Month – which will help you get more of an idea for your groups. The festival, Voices of the (603), will take place all day at St. Anselm’s College (7:00PM concert start) in Manchester/Goffstown for middle and high schools from all across New Hampshire.
Included in this day will be clinics for you and your students to learn some a cappella techniques from professionals in the field of a cappella and singing. Teachers will be provided with CEUs for attending these musical clinics. The schedule of clinics will be posted to our website: www.voicesofthe603.org as soon as clinicians are confirmed.
Schedule options: There are several options for you and your school’s participation.
1) Attend the whole day (clinics in the morning and performance at night),
2) Attend clinics (students + teachers) in the morning only (10AM-2:30PM),
3) Attend clinics (teacher only) in the morning only (10AM-2:30PM), or
4) Attend to perform only (students + teachers) (4:30PM-9:30PM).
(You may sign up for any/all of these times for CEUs for yourself or performances and clinics for your students/ensembles.)
Deadline: Please sign up by Monday, March 2, 2020 to voicesofthe603@gmail.com, on our website: www.voicesofthe603.org, over the phone 828-6739 or through mail: Jamie Saucier c/o Voices of the (603) | 10 Main Street | East Kingston, NH 03287.
Music: We will sing one ensemble piece: Light On (by Maggie Rogers) together and your group(s) will need to prepare two required a cappella pieces to perform. We have scheduled time to rehearse–as well as rehearsal times and sound checks for your individual ensembles. On the website: (www.voicesofthe603.org) we have the different parts, mp3s and pdfs available for your ensemble. Please look this song over before coming with your ensemble.
Ensemble information: You must have a representative/chaperone for your ensemble the whole time. The only time when the chaperone would not be required to be with the students is during clinics- unless you wish to attend the same clinic together.
Cost: FREE to perform and have master classes! STUDENTS NEED TO PROVIDE BAG LUNCH. We will have Dinner provided.
Parking/Directions: https://www.anselm.edu/dana-center/tickets/directions
Tickets: Tickets are $20/each. Performers and teachers are free. Tickets can and should be purchased ahead of time: www.voicesofthe603.org/tix.

- We will be recording and photographing the concert again this year.
- We will also be having the honor of having our talented Heather Bishop (WZID) emcee the event.
- I will also provide anyone who asks, with custom a cappella arrangements for your ensemble of a song of your choice throughout the year.
- Each group will be provided with feedback from a variety of coaches throughout the day as well as during the concert.
